1920s Charleston 2 week workshop

Saturdays 2nd July 2011 (Beginners) & 9th July 2011 (Intermediate – Advanced) 10.00am – 1pm, at The Bakery, 233 James St, Northbridge

Course Description

The Charleston was the dance that captured the spirit of the 1920s, and it’s also experiencing a huge revival around the world today. It’s energetic, upbeat and danced to toe-tapping hot jazz. In this two week workshop you will learn the Charleston and other 1920s dances, starting with the basics and working up to advanced steps, guaranteed to bring out your inner flapper!

You have a choice to do both weeks or only one week, depending on your level.  If you choose to do the Intermediate- Advanced lesson, we advise that you either have done the Beginner’s class, or have dance experience or have done a Charleston class previously.

What to Wear
Loose, cool, comfortable clothing and comfortable flat shoes you can dance in. Slippery soles are best. Bring along a bottle of water and a towel.

Restrictions
This course is for guys and girls, all ages welcome.
No experience whatsoever is needed to take do the Beginner’s Workshop, it’s perfect for all ages, shapes and persuasions! All levels of skill can be catered to, whether you’re a dancer/actor/performer or have never taken a dance class in your life!

Price

$70 for each individual workshop (including GST)
$120 for both workshops  (including GST)
