Burlesque Beginners Dance 6 Week Course
Consisting of six 1-hour dance classes over six weeks, this course is an introduction to burlesque dance, the hottest trend in town, bringing together a sizzling dance style with elaborate vintage costumes, cool retro tunes and a lot of sassy fun!, Learn how to be a total glamour queen, how to walk and dance in sky-high heels and how to exude confidence and sex appeal! And of course, you’ll learn all the fundamentals of burlesque dance! You’ll shimmy, shake, undulate, bump,grind, wiggle, jiggle, twirl and swirl your way through the classic burlesque moves and the use of the tools of tease, such as boas, canes, gloves and chairs. Not only will you walk away with a few new moves for the boudoir, but this is also a great workout! You will even get the chance to perform a full group choreography at a Sugar Blue Burlesque live show.
You will learn the art of the feather boa dance, a sexy burlesque floor routine, sassy burlesque chair dancing, cane dancing and putting burlesque dancing into a tease routine.

Introduction to Burlesque 6 Week Course
Our short course is an introduction to the fun and glamorous world of burlesque! The course is all about having fun whilst discovering, exploring and drawing out your sexy, sensual inner burlesque queen, in a playful, safe and friendly environment!
Consisting of 6 one hour lessons, you’ll be introduced to the history of burlesque, you’ll learn how to be a glamour queen, including what to wear, vintage hair and make up styling, how to walk(even in sky-high heels!) and how to exude confidence and sex appeal! You’ll explore the art of the tease-artiste – how to play with a strap,peel a glove or strip a stocking to tantalise an audience… or just that special someone! And of course, we’ll cover all the fundamentals of burlesque dance! At the end of most courses we will put on a Graduate Show and you can make your burlesque debut, performing alongside your fellow students and the Sugar Blue Burlesque artistes too! Don’t worry, performing in the show is completely optional.

What’s the difference between the Intro course and the Burlesque Beginner’s Dance course?
This is the most asked question that we get! The Introduction to Burlesque course is more of theory based course which will go through the fundamentals of burlesque as a performance art, such as the art of tease, the history, how to do vintage hair and makeup, costuming as well as some burlesque dance etc..
The Burlesque Beginner’s Dance course is exactly that! Its a course which has 6 weeks of Burlesque dance in its diffferent forms – chair, floor, cane, glove and boa routines as well as group choreography. Which should you do first?? It doesnt matter! Many girls do these course along side of each other as they compliment each other perfectly!
